nanny and nanny kitty
I have beliefs, grasp them despite fleeing notions of stability - believe in the spirits roaming through my kitchen, believe that when I speak to the lilies sitting on my books, sunlight framing stems, that my grandma hears from the other end. I hope that on the other side of this never-answering call, ancestors hear the ring and check in from above - witnessing and giggling as my sins unfold like a French drama film before them, sending glimpses of lucky fortune through my side of the veil.
Every time 11:11 shines on the cable box, I hope the barrier dims just a little so you sit beside me as we watch our favorite movie.
